    I did not mean to suggest #13 was German made. The type I thing are German are the larger all aluminum shoulderboard buttons. I have this opinion because of the color primarily. The color appears to be German field gray paint like a German mess kit. I could be wrong

    From the end of 1946?... #25? Looks like a standard prewar coat button to me did you mean 1936?

    This one is probably I'am wrong ( due of the button's color ) But the 47 yaer button's shape is similar to this one, I will show later what I mean, there a small brass buttons and the same big, with the similar backing to the shown.

    Well guys... I managed to locate my storage box of spare buttons in short order this evening

    I will sort out some good examples and photo them tomorrow. I have both wartime and post war examples in all three sizes and can do a spread much like Philippe did for us. Glad to see this topic take a root finally. Should be good discussion.
