Collar Tabs - M35 & M43

Boys,

Embarrassingly, I am unsure of a few attributes of these as I have not owned or have handled many in the past. Now I have acquired a lot of them, some authentic and some old reproductions - so I need to sort them out.

Please, if any of you can provide measurements in MM for the M35/41 type for gymnasterki, and the M43 type for shinel - AND perhaps some images of both types and their variations, I would appreciate it greatly.

In other words, show me what you've got - loose or affixed.

Richie, as I have seen, many of period originals are different in size. In most cases you can't find the difference between M 35 and M 43 overcoat tabs

I don't understand where the confusion is. Obr1940 Petlitsi for gimnasterka are pretty obvious, they are made up of two non-subdued colours.

Attached are photos of originals.

Obr1943 Petlitsi for shinel are completely different, the inner colour being a subdued (defensive) colour with the branch of service colour piped around it.

Attached is a set of Obr1943 shinel petlitsi for technical troops.

The only time it can become confusing is if the shinel is using parade or "everyday" insignia. But we know for sure that there were purposefully made 1943 Shinel everyday petlitsi because NKVD VV have different colours on their 1943 petlitsi to their 1940 petlitsi.
