There is really no way to tell on these Kitel as they are rarely marked. Wartime materials were still used well into the postwar years. The shoulder-boards are not original to the garment and branch ciphers are absent, but that is really not a problem as they could be changed. If it were mine I would replace them with the service/parade type. In in any case and in my opinion this is still a nice item and most likely is wartime or early postwar.

Looks like a good candidate for an early one IMO . The dark green Kitels tend to be postwar more often than not. Have you checked the button backs ? Blank undated backs are a good sign although they may have been added .
Looks ok to me but as said above these were used post war too.
The posted example is lighter in color because it is made of Lend-Lease supplied U.S. mustard wool.
It is very nice.
