I have Russian uniform which I believe has the marshal ranks...

    My questions are:

    - what uniform is this? A parade uniform or a mess dress ??

    - what are these ranks, Marshal of .... ? aviation, artillery, engineer troops??

I also found a few uniforms with the same red cross and they are Marshall of the Soviet Union,
is this also ranked marshal of the soviet union?

the two branches in a cross in the blue part of the embroidery confuse me.

I can also could not find something similar with the same marks (branches in a cross)?

I would also like to know the approx date of this uniform...

    Any help is welcome.

If I am seeing it right, there looks to be 14 ribbons on the wreath on the buttons, which would place it in the 1956–1991 era.

I see fifteen, boys - Don't forget William, that Momma Russia's is in the centre.

Don't go by the bullion. It is not very qualitative. I'm surprised - and of course, skeptical because of it.

I can't date the tunic from the images.

Not that it works all the time to date cloth, but the OP should show an image of the reverse of one of the buttons...

This is a cerimonial uniform for an envoy holding the rank of Ambassador.
After 1954 only Ambassadors and Ministers I & II class were given a uniform to wear. In hot and tropical countries the uniform was white; for the rest of the world the uniform was black.
For late type of uniforms it is possible to date using the stamping on the buttons. For the older ones it is possible to give only a timespan.

    is it for sale?
