    From 1935 color of piping on trousers was as follows

    Raspberry - Infantry
    Red – Artillery, Armor, Medical, Veterinarian, Justice, Administrative, Supply(Intendants) from 1936 also Kuban’s and Don’s Kazaks
    Light blue – Cavalry (from 1936 also Terek’s Kazaks)
    Blue – All technical and engineering
    Azure – Aviation
    Black – Chemical

    Raspberry - State security and all NKVD's troops

    From 1943

    Raspberry - Infantry, Justice, Supply(Intendants)
    Red – Artillery, Armor, Medical, Veterinarian, Administrative
    Black – All technical, chemical and engineering.
    Light Blue – Cavalry
    Azure – Aviation

    NKVD/NKGB
    Royal blue - State security and all branches of internal troops.
    Green - Frontier guard troops.

    Perhaps you mean CRIMSON for NKVD? I understand that RASPBERRY is Infantry...

    Also, that post 1943r NKVD & NKGB was a CORNFLOWER blue?

    Color was identical to Red Army infantry, of course if we still talking about piping on the bridges and tunics, not something else.

    Russian word for that color is васильковый, most frequently used english equivalent is Royal Blue, that looks somewhat like that
