    Hello,

I ask your advice / info about these type of tunics.

They are standard WW2 period manufacture and materials.

They both conform to the cut of the M1940 pattern for general officers' everyday tunic but with no piping, insignia and with standard other ranks' sickle and hammer buttons.

Searching for pics I have located some where Council of Defense members (those of Khruchev in Stalingrad are well known) seem to have favoured this tunic alongside breeches and a M1941 plain khaki cap. Also some high ranking civil personnel like plant managers appear to be wearing this outfit in some group pictures.

Nevertheless, looking in Russian sites I have not been able to locate any regulation on them.

Also, unlike the civilian pre-war <<french>> tunics which have some variations in cut, materials and the arrangement of pockets and cuff type, these are very consistent with the aforementioned model M1940.

The type is fairly popular in post-war civil uniforms regulations like transportation ministry or power stations' personnel, specially for lower ranks (masterii), but these are always greo or blue in color and are depicted with collar pelitsi of pre-war inspiration.

    Tunic 1.

Made from coarse cloth (maybe canadian lend-lease?).

Medium-low quality industrial manufacture. As you may see the sleeves and the sleeves'lining is made from scrap material. While on the outer side the material is from the same cloth and only aparent at close inspection that the leeves are in fact made from various parts sewn together, the lining not.

Standard unmarked ww2 type coat buttons.

The collar has no hook and the french type cuff is made by sewing together the cuff and the sleeve (as some 1943 kitels are).

    TUNIC 2

    Lend lease US fabric.

good overall industrial manufacture, only very used and stored under humid conditions.

As you may see buttons are standard unamrked ww2 coat buttons and the lining is black cotton.
