Re: RKKA Gimnasterka, 1944 year, US cotton made
This is sure not a postwar gymnasterka, and surely not a Bulgarian

Tie the belt never done! This is someone's home-made!
shirt itself is real, but does not indent
had a similar cut in Baku in 44 years, a British twill, but without indentation!

Re: RKKA Gimnasterka, 1944 year, US cotton made
Dimas, I have to agree that this back side elastic does seem factory installed. It sure looks like the same burgundy colored thread used elsewhere in the construction of this shirt. Is it the exact same thread, or just closely matched.

The elastic belt is original factory made. My friend Feliks had approx 3 of unissued, absolutely the same as shown approx, a 15 years ago. They was a veterans belonged to the 8th Rifle Regiment ( Estonian corps) and seems they was sold to the Ostfront Tomas

Dimas, if sold to Thomas I do not recall. Had this happened while I was part of Ostfront, surely one would be in my collection. Possibly after 2004?? Very interesting.

Hello,
Very nice gymnasterka !
I especially like the style of the collar, very atypical !
The elasticated waist remains typical of the US fabrication or it's just an exception ?
Cordially
