    "Shinel (greatcoat)"

    (approved by the All-Union Standards Committee 10 March 1931).

    Shinel are made in three different types:

    for infantry
    for cavalry
    for foot artillery

    PS cavalry shinel (of any size) is longer than the infantry and artillery types.

    Sizes:

    Shinel are made of seven different growth (0-6), corresponds to the seven standard sizes (determined by measuring the size of half of a breast circumference):

    "growth 0" - corresponds to the standard size "42"
    "growth 1" - corresponds to the standard size "44"
    "growth 2" - corresponds to the standard size "46"
    "growth 3" - corresponds to the standard size "48"
    "growth 4" - corresponds to the standard size "50"
    "growth 5" - corresponds to the standard size "52"
    "growth 6" - corresponds to the standard size "54"

    From the outside shinel made of gray greatcoat cloth, inner lining - lining canvas.
    Marking applied to the inside of the lining, with the bottom of the right side. Marking stamp contains: factory name, growth, OCT 2681 standard.

    "Hat, artificial fur, for the Red Army (Ushanka)"

    (approved by the All-Union Standards Committee 18 December 1941).

    Sizes:

    Ushanka are made of four different growth, each growth has one different head size:

    "growth 1" (1P) - corresponds to the standard size "54"
    "growth 2" (2P) - corresponds to the standard size "56"
    "growth 3" (3P) - corresponds to the standard size "58"
    "growth 4" (4P) - corresponds to the standard size "60"

    Ushanka is made of the following materials:

    Outside - artificial fur; cloth, moleskine cloth, or melange cloth
    Lining - painted calico
    For tying - cotton lace

    PS Materials for making ushanka - artificial fur, cotton lace and cloth, must be matched by color.
