    Hi,

    I was hoping you guys could give me some advice on the origins of these items, especially the pin. I rarely come across Soviet stuff so its completely new to me. I found it interested the coat button (at least I'm assuming) was made in Chicago.

    The star-cockarde is a common 38MM M36 type made until 1939 for use with various types of soft headgear - and was still used well through the war and even afterwards.

    The button is also a common U.S. made type for the Soviet Union under the Lend-Lease program. There were a few other American manufacturers that made buttons - in metal and celluloid.
