1914 EK1 Fake?

Article about: Hi Everyone, I just got my first EK1. However, I'm doubting its originality as it is non-magnetic and seems to only be made from one piece, so was wondering whether someone could confirm my

    Thanks!

I thought it looks more like a B, with the bottom half very faint as though it hadn't been stamped properly, but you could be right.

Ralph is absolutely correct. The cross is made by Carl Dillenius of Pforzheim.

Sorry to bother you again, but can you tell by just looking at the ring stamp, or is it something to do with the design?

As I do not recognize all the design differences yet, I go by the maker's mark. Other members can tell by differences in the crown, date and beading.

    It's no bother at all.
We know that it's CD 800 because it is a fairly common maker and we have seen
this mark over and over again. Yours is not as clearly marked as some we have
seen but still clear enough to know what it is.

It would take a bit of leg work but yes, this cross could be identified from other characteristics
than just the makers mark. The large crown along with the shape of the "W" plus the high points
of the frame corners would tell us it's a Dillenius but one would need to ( or at least I would
need to ) compare against pictures of other known CD crosses.
