Patrick,
The first cross you posted a link to is an original but has a fake ribbon, the second is original too but broken and not worth spending your money on.

Hi Patrick,
Take a look here: http://www.militariaplaza.nl/medals/view-all-products

Very old thread this I came over just now, but I disagree with all posters to such an extent that I feel I have to speak my mind here regarding the EK that started this thread. It is utterly inappropriate to treat a 'CD 800' marked cross probably made by Carl Dillenius out of Pforzheim as a generic standard 1914 EKII - it is not. This cross is perhaps the most finely constructed cross of all 1914 EKIIs and in my opinion only rivalled by the Godet made EKII. It is not one of the most common to find either. I will gladly pay € 65 for a Carl Dillenius in such nice condition any day. Even the very suspension ring of these crosses is of unusually high quality.

I agree with Ken.
That's why Klaus sells the rest Eks for 45 euros whilst this one for 65.
I buy most of my Eks from him.

Looking for the photo albums of Leutnant Emil Freitag, 3. / G.R. 377
A local dealer has a variety of original WWI EKII's for $75.
Yea, I never really looked at the makers of them. Looking at that Carl Dillenius, it does look like a very high-quality cross.
I agree ---Carl Dillenius crosses are some of the nicest made crosses.
I would put just behind Godet as far as quality of Ek2s.
While I don't get too overly excited by maker marked 2nd class crosses,
I know people that try to get an example of every marked cross and pay
a premium for some of the harder to find makers.

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
Patrick, give 'Oradour' Steve a chance - See what he's got for you.
We have a dealer over here selling unmarked WWI EKII's for
$50 CDN and maker marked for $75, but wherever you
buy from outside your own country, there will also be
postage tacked on which will then make any cross
even more expensive.........
Regards,
Steve.
