    Ralph,
That really is a nice looking Oak leaf spange. I like the fact that they
are made of silver. I am still waiting to find a set of real silver Oaks.

As far as the "pucker factor" is concerned. Find yourself a AWS 1870 2nd class cross.
A lot of AWS made crosses have un-soldered rings.
Thanks for all of your help during my search Greg! I really do appreciate it!

Should I be looking for one with a smaller ribbon ring?
    Ralph.

If you do decide to try the bending option be sure to use jewellers round jawed pilers, as the round jaws won't mark the metal. I'd probably wrap some tape to the jaws just to be safe. Beautiful Spange something you don't see every day.

    You are very welcome.

No need to look for a small ring cross. My AWS has a split ring that measures
14.9mm and that compares closely to my Type A crosses.

Thanks Greg, but that is for the different mounting method of the oaks.
If you look at the examples I put up in post 17, the ribbon ring has been removed and the oak mounting loop has been twisted 90 deg. and then applied to the jump ring.
I suspect if I am going to add these oaks to an EK, I will likely have to do the same thing as I have not seen any other way to do it.

I see. said the blind man.
So there is still a bit of pucker factor. I know you are a do it yourself kind of guy and are more
than capable of working with small items. But if this were mine, I would have no problem taking
it to a jeweler to have the oaks attached. Any real jeweler ( not a mall store jeweler) should have
    no problem doing this.
