Adler, I have just come across this thread and I must say you have an absolutely astonishing collection - the best Imperial German collection I have ever seen. As some of the others have noted, I love the way you have displayed the items too - especially the bayonets. I'd love to see even more photos if you ever get around to taking more. Thanks so much for posting.
Also, I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on how collecting has changed over the years. It sounds like the 70s was a bit of a golden period for collectors of WW1 militaria.

It was indeed very easy back then, if only you had the money. In those days, I just had not enough money but one could also find a lot in atticks and barns... Too bad, those days are gone...
