Nice variation, typical for 1813 Prinzens. Never seen it on 1914 crosses. Congrats!

...I just recalled how I bought this piece, three years ago. There were 5 auctions in one time on ebay for Prinzen crosses all eras, installed by one seller. Four of them were stepped core fakes, fifth one was this CFZ. It sold cheapest...
    That was a lucky find.
Ebay has been good to me. It just takes a bit of patience
and doing a bit of home work. I got several nice pieces
    including my 1813 off Ebay.

I agree completely. Without eBay, I would not had the chance to have such Imperial crosses collection. Here in Slovakia, no flea market with such stuff, no vet bringbacks, no estate sales of such items. Slovak phaleristic society has about 30 members, mostly collecting Austro-Hungarian stuff or Slovak ww2 stuff, which is very rare and valuable (Slovakia was the smallest German ally with only one combat and one reserve division), but quite hard to find and little bit boring for variant collector - there was (and still is) only one maker of all awards, Kremnica State Mint.

Yep, me too :-) With only one militaria show a year or two if I want to spend 150. € traveling ! eBay is not so bad ;-) Mfg Marc
