Bavarian Officer's Pickelhaube - My first Spiked Helmet

Article about: Thanks everyone for the kind comments. It certainly was a steal at \\$509, and it was a Craig's List find, which makes it even more enjoyable.

    No special places!
Officers helmets are not marked the way other are.
But the newspaper could give a clue, or a written name and date some where...

I saw 1898 on one of the papers. Nothing yet on te helmet itself.

Could be the exact date! I think the model was a 1896 first worn in 1897!
The Raupenhelm was the model used before that date.

Can the above 2 posts be deleted please?

Hawkers of repro rubbish barging into others threads on reputable forums in order to swindle a buck disgust me.

A big WOW. Very nice example. I'm looking for one and found one on auction. Not as great as yours and I think a little more expensive. But yours is a good reference. I'll have to wait for a few more days.

    Thx for sharing

    Cheers Paul
