Hi all. Just thought I would share these items I have in my collection with you. The sword has been cut down for use as a more practical fighting knife and the bayonet is interesting as it is marked 3 E. M. G. K. 56 for an Ersatz Machine Gun Company (unfortunatly someone has been practicing their sharpening skills of lack of on it).
I really like the sword as to me its symbolic of the the way in which warfare changed during the First World War; a sword being unpractical in trench warfare so being cut down to a more convienient size.
Cheers.
