DEMAG trench knife/bajonet

Hi guys,

I try really hard to stick to collecting EK's solely, but there is just something about these trench knives! I guess it is the thoughts that come to mind when looking at them, and they have a very appealing look to them, I think ;-)

This is my first DEMAG, one I have been looking for, for a while :-)
The scabbard has been repainted, and the hanger is partly broken . But I like it a lot anyway ! I may have paid a little too much, but I find them very hard to come by .

It still shows lots of orig apple green on the handle.
I recently sold mine for a up trade. But still love the feel in hand. the leather break is common.

Does it have an acceptance (fraktur) mark on the spine of the blade? Fastest way I know of to determine all is as it should be with these beauties. Thank you, for posting it.

I'm with Ralph!! I want to add one of these to my collection also.
These are faked, But It might have been on this site were it was mentioned that the fakes have a solid release button and the ones that have the slotted nut release buttons are the good ones.

I'm no expert, Just somebody who wants one and have tried to read everything about the fakes to know better when I see one to buy....

I stand corrected on that tid bit of info.
For future reference for me, you mentioned the fraktor is a good way to tell if its real. What does the acceptance stamp look like? I also understand if you do not want to publish it here in an open forum.

No sweat, the picture below is from current 'bay item # 291048140982. It's sort of the Imperial German equivalent of the US' Ordinance Bomb acceptance stamp (in their case it's the initial of the German inspector's last name). Just a matter of time before it's faked too (if not already).

I actually just sold one (an original) last week on the 'bay item # 111246547483 one of the other blade marked variants. It didn't bring what I thought it would. It was in very nice shape (a duplicate) to one I already own. The scabbard was similar in condition to yours, but the blade was flawless. I think the numerous repros that have flooded the market have driven the price way down on the entire market (yes, affecting the originals too). Used to be a good solid $400-$600 bayo, not today more like $200-$350. I'd hate to play God and attempt to price yours as I prefer not to be insulting. Let's just say I wouldn't value it any higher then the one I just sold;-)
