Dog tag help needed?

Greetings, I recently purchased a I.D. Tag with the following on it:
Gustav Ethstadt
PETZNIK KT. KRONK
26 . 3 82
R .I. R .34 7. K N .76

I only have the half which would have remained with the soldier and would like to know what the inscriptions mean. Thanks in advance for any help. Larry

It sounds like an Imperial tag and not Third Reich. So I will move your post to the WW1 forum.

Doesen't look like a German tag, even for ww1

RIR would probably be Reserve Infanterie Regiment, then the K for Kompanie and the N for Nummer for the owner's id. The other number group is the birthdate, 26 March 1882
