Ralph,
What a fantastic example. I love the beading on the frame. Especially the corners!

nice 1 ralph as ever your pics are spot on thanks
Ralph the Z mark is that for Zeich ?
Cheers Ralph appreciate the reply
According to this site, it stands for H. Zehn
Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse 1914 für Kämpfer
Interesting, sure I read somewhere it was thought to be Zeich of Berlin
Also in the book by Wernitz is mentioned H. Zehn, Goldschmied und Ordensfabrikant, in Berlin as maker of "Z" marked crosses. He was a well known manufacturer in this period (i. e. his Kronenorden or Read Egale Order with same marking are known). But never heard about "Zeich". May be a misspelling?

Tomasz
Remember where I read it now kaiserbunker.com he states possibly Zeich
I didn't found any evidence, that a IC maker named "Zeich" has existed at all. And I never seen this name mentioned in any German forum or literature.
The list on kaiserbunker is very often cited in different English spoken forums, but the konwledge there is in large part out of date. And some "makers" mentioned on this lis didn't existed at all, or didn't existed in this period. Many other makres are already known, but they are different as on kaiserbunker's list (i. e KO, FR or WS). IMO this list is really no more good source for today.
