It's been a quiet few months for me in the militaria world, I've actually been selling some of my collection and not buying. Plus I had to fund a pesky dog getting a new hip.

But anyhew, here is my newest addition to my Iron Cross collection.

    Lovely example, congrats Jamie!
These are kind of addicting in their own right.

    Sweeeeet! Beautiful

One day it would be nice to find one
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

    Congratulations on a wonderful cross.
Besides the very nice typeA core, I especially like the original 1870s
ribbon. The fact that the white stripes have flaked off the silk just
adds to the proof of authenticity of the cross.

A couple years ago, someone over at the GMIC forum compiled a list
of known variants of the 25 year weilderholungspange (oak leaf cluster)
and yours is variant #17 on that list.

    Absolutely.
IMO the 1870 crosses are the top of the EK family as far as quality goes.
