That is a neat variation. I have one just like it.
There has been a lot of debate about these things over the years.
Most of us agree that these were never an issued cross and the current
thinking is that these were made just after the war and sold as souvenirs.
Another theory is that the were made as theatrical props but IMO we see too
many of them for that to be the case.
Whatever they are, they are well made and a neat variation worthy of being
added to a collection.

What a neat cross and I must confess that I have never owned one like it. I share Greg's assessment that these were not a wartime issued cross and most likely a post war souvenir. None the less, it certainly is a beautiful cross and without hesitation, belongs in any collection. "So many variants and so little time."
