Hello Dany,
This cross is textbook Wagner, very early piece with sandcast core that strongly resembles EK2 1870 B Type (same crown and W, same production technique). Thus its name B 1914 Type. As this was unique core used only by Wagner, it should be marked S-W. "Z" is probably only seller´s interpretation of badly stamped mark.
Cross is not single mounted, but put down from multiple medal bar. As you can see, it is mounted only on the front plate of TR style "ordensblech" with opened "ears" through which it was connected to the backing plate with needle and catch.

Live to ride -- Ride to live
I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
The cross arrived and the mark is posted below. It's either an "N"'or a "Z".
I found a reference to a "Z" on the internet being "Z" for "Zeich" of Berlin" on the web page referenced at the bottom of this post.
I also found reference to "N" being Neuhaus & Sohn of unknown location.
Does anyone have any published referenced to this maker "Z" or an opinion as to which maker it is?
"Z" or "N"'???
