EK maker marks.

Article about: I was wondering which marks for 1914 EK's were post war vs during the war. And also does anyone know about the LV or LV65 marks? Thanks!

Hey I have read somewhere that the LV stands for Leferverbund fur das Eiserne Kreuz ( Supply network for the Iron Cross ) and that the number such as 65 is the specific supplier. Is this true?

Do you think that the LV's are multiple makers?

Yes. It is supposed to be from "Lieferungsverband" ( suppliers collective)
according to "the history and significance of a medal" by Frank Wernitz and Volker Simons.
And there are examples of LV 2,10,68 or69 ,74 and o, in the book .

Marc and Greg have been extremely helpful in my quest to distinguish fakes from gems! I will be posting a screwback I received yesterday in another thread soon! These 1914s have a lot of character,
