Eki - ko

I have this KO cross but I have some doubts about it's core painture. Gap between core and frame is closed for the black core paint. Is this a factory retouchment or is it a repainted cross?

That's a nice original cross.
It's hard to tell from the pictures but I'm guessing that it may have been repainted.
If it is a repaint, it was well done and does not detract at all from the cross.
Some "KO" crosses have a real problem with paint coming off the cores leading to the many
that we see that have been touched up.

Any collection of Imperial crosses should have at least one 'KO" in it as they
are the most plentiful and are believed to be the standard issued crosses.

Ricardo..I concour with Greg on his summary, these first class "KO" marked crosses rarely turn up with an original full coat of paint on the core..heres what yours probably looked like before it was touched up.....a pair of "KO" mm EK's, a first and second class.
