Welcome to the forum.
I am no expert at all with these but I like what I see. I am sure someone
will be along shortly to give a better opinion.

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
Infanterie-Regt. Graf Bülow von Dennewitz (6.Westfälisches) Nr.55 was in the VII Armee Korps and did ware a Gilt Line Eagle. SO the helmet and Uberzug do appear to go together. The spike looks "different" to me, thinner than normal, the liner appears to a larger size than the helmet and made to fit. As to the Uberzug, it is hard to tell from photos. What is the history of these pieces, how have they been able to stay together and in such good shape, over a 100 years?
Thanks for the input! I did decide to buy a different pickelhaube, but I'll link the site and description here in case you want to look at it further. In any event, it is still for sale.

Hello,
No offense intended, but this piece looks like an older U.K. made fake.
The spike is shaped wrong, just like the fake ones are.
The nap of the felt looks wrong.
The inside leather lining looks wrong to me from your excellent photos. The leather looks to be very, very thick, nothing like the WW1 German made leather or pigskin liners that are found in the felt helmets.
I'm glad to see that you passed on it. I think you made a wise decision in not buying it.
Best Regards,
Alan
