Article about: Hi Guys Have seen this for sale and was wondering if it is First World War and German. Not really my era, but I think the shape looks great, so still might buy it.

    Thats a complete fake, don't touch it!

    It is a crude copy of a WW1 German helmet with a WW2 type liner fitted. it is very poorly made and miss-happen and the liner has the characteristics of a cheap modern copy that has been made to look old.

    Yes, as Lebus says, the front brim of the helmet is too long on these fakes and resembles a duck's beak.

    Its a good helmet to use when you are out and fishing. Just put a mosquito net over it and enjoy the fishing. Ordinary hats usually dont have a stiff enough brim so you get the mosquito net in your face.

    Buuuuut with this "Mosquito-Buster" those hungry little insects cant get to you.
