I bought this chupka? at a flea market. Does anyone have any photos of what this helmet is really supposed to look like? The mortarboard is pretty beat up and wonder if this helmet is worth a front plate and other accessories. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks Stuka for your response and the photo. Here are more photos of my helmet. There is some obvious repair work.

    Hey Pablo,
there is work to be done on thise one!
Glad to see it still got's his original liner.
The upper part of the visor is missing like 3 to 4 mm, the part above the stiching is gone, and so the visor in no longer (well) attached to the helmet, exept by the two metal rivets on the sides.
The square top part also had to indured som dammages.
It seems to have been a Prussian Uhlan all right, as one can still see the impression/print or shade of the Imperial eagle.
I like it if you don't intend to restore, or complete it and if it comes up for trade, let me know!
    cheers

Pablo...a perfectly good "M1915 Ulanan Tschapka", in need of some TLC, it can be restored...and will look good when complete, congratulations on your find !
    Prost ! Steve.

In regards to restoration, any suggestions? I guess I will need a plate, chinstrap, and kockades. I thought about using the chinstrap to cover up the junction between the visor and the place where the stitching used to be.

The chinstrap will not cover the whole junction especialy on the sides, but it is worth the try.
Beware the helmet plate is different to the one's on the spike helmets, they are much smaler for chapska's and shako's!
But that is indeed what you need.
