Hi there, It's a German M16/17 as far as I can see, but I think it has been reissued to the Austrian Army... the chinstrap rivets are low on the skirt like a German shell, but the chinstrap bales on the inside look Austrian to me, as does the strap itself and the rivets holding the liner band into the shell. It could also have seen use in Czechoslovakia. I don't recognise that maker mark / lot number in the dome. Any markings in the skirt? Interesting pot.
M17 German.

on the last picture i added there a mark ( .66?)
Don't Czech helmets have round split pins like this one does?
That's why I threw in the little bit about Czech use; could be certainly. Check the front and back of the top of the shell, look for small holes that have been filled. The Czechs put a comb on top when they used them, if they did this to every single helmet I'm not sure. I think I'm mistaken saying Austria used rivets like that.
i can't see any small holes that have been filled
