Can you post a close up of any marks on the blade, it might help with an ID.
It's a M1898 bayonet, with cut down blade, which was originally the 52cm long "quillback" type. Maker is V.C. Schilling of Suhl and it appears to be the one piece wrap around wood grip which would make it the early "a/A" version and probably make before 1906. Looks like traces of nickel plating so probably used as a "parade/walking out" side arm. That would be confirmed by absence of any royal cypher or regiment marks. Quite a nice find, a pre WW1 piece.
