    Hello there mateys

May I know please what is your opinion on this canteen ? AFAIK it's an imperial canteen but misses its wool cover and straps. Has a part of the strap still on the neck and seems to have some kind of primer laquered all over the body.

Any info is more than welcome

P.S: I cannot extract the cork screw at this point as it won't budge and I'm afraid it'll snap if I insist ... it's over 100 years old.

    Cheers

It looks like one to me - according to what I've read, from the middle of the war only the interiors of the steel bodies were tinned, leaving the outsides to be painted or enameled. I have a couple of feldgrau-painted ones and one in bright cobalt blue enamel with a stopper very similar to yours.
