german ww1 helmet ??

I just picked this up for 150 bucks. It's a wwi german helmet? As you can see in the photos the helmet is brownish and I can see a few numbers along the inside of the rim cant make it out and there are no other markings. Its bin very well used but not in bad condition. It has seen some action or whatever. It has a marking 2 on the liner which is plain as day and maybe some other marking like the soldiers name but cant make it out. Looks like a paint run on the top back of the helmet. I dont know, you guys are the pros please help. I just collect german ww2 stuff not german. I like the helmets of the germans in ww1

Helmet is size64 Richard Lindenberg but the liner is not original W1 sorry.

so your saying the liner isnt original to the helmet? sure looks like its bin in there for a while, maybe a late war chin strap?

I have never seen a leather liner band with attached chinstrap bales.

i have looked everywhere on the interet and cant find anything. what is a b l shell? whatever the liner is its bin like that for a very long time.. is it a m18 style set up ?
