Help identify Schirmmuetze, Stahlhelm?

Article about: Was browsing some auction sites this morning and spotted this with a few minutes to go. Took a chance and won it. These are the only photos I had to go on and IMO, it's an authentic cap IMO

    Was browsing some auction sites this morning and spotted this with a few minutes to go. Took a chance and won it.

    These are the only photos I had to go on and IMO, it's an authentic cap IMO but from what period?

    I've never seen an Imperial Army cap in this configuration before so could it be from the Inter War period? Stahlhelm for instance?
