Hessen or Belgian Pickelhaube?
Hello all, I was unsure of where to post this topic so I thought this place to be best. I had a quick id question. Does anyone know the type of helmet this is or what country it comes from? I was told by the seller that it is Belgian and that it was a parade hat by another person. If anyone could offer me some suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated in advance. Thank you all for your time!

I can tell you it is not Hessen. Beyond that I'm not sure.

Do you think it is from World War I? Thank you very much for your response, btw!

I do not believe it is military related possibly police something of that matter

It looks more like a Policemans helmet.

Looks similar to indian war helmet but there were so many different countries and clubs that used the same style helmet during the same period

I Knew I'd remember where I'd seen this helmet sooner or later! It is a Dutch M1894 Colonial Cavalry Officer's helmet. They were used in the Dutch East Indies from 1894 till around about 1910. They are a Quite rare helmet.... This one is missing it's chain chinstrap.
