    I believe this is a Swiss 1889/11 bayonet for the Schmidt-Rubin rifle....Pete.

    Swiss 1889 for sure...The US Krag bayonet was based on this design, btw...
    From what I've read, the scabbards were notoriously unreliable, resulting in many lost bayonets.
    The Model 89/18 fixed that problem...
