Thanks guys!
Kris, if a Garde Du Corps (Prussia) insignia, does that mean it has nothing to do with the award Order of the Black Eagle?
Tom
Not sure Tom! I am not that specialized in German orders! It could very well be.
I am more into headgear and linked it ,there for,to the GDC.
Steve will probably tell you more.
cheers

Thanks Kris, we'll wait to hear from Steve.

A great pair of Imperial items, the Cross is rare, and is a great addition to an Imperial era medal collection ! Kris is correct IMO, the stickpin is indeed the insignia of the Garde du Korps (funny how this symbol and motto is incorporated in the cap badge for "Feldjager" units , in today's Bundeswehr) , and would of been worn on civilian clothing to signify some association with the Regiment, not anything to do with the award. See here for more information on the award...

Prost ! Steve.
Thanks Steve, I did notice that whilst trawling the net for info.
BTW, is it the second s/pin badge which you say is rare?
