Thanks Greg and Marc. Yes, it´s similar to gambling, but there is one crucial difference. You don´t have money return privileges in Casino ;-) Miro

Hi, this type of core is not known (to me) with sidehooks, but it doesn´t mean such type doesn´t exist. Mine Koch & Bergfeld wasn´t known with sidehooks as well, until I found one...
Anyway, I would like to see the pictures of frames soldering, details of sidehooks and better photos of obverse as well before saying anything serious about this piece.

I would like to see much better pictures. My initial feeling about
    this one is not good.

    Gentlemen,

I have bought lately this cross and it is marked "FR"; the mark is stamped in a small box directly under the catch. For long I believed that all combinations of the letters F and R stand for the same maker, Friedländer, but I remember reading somewhere that there is actually a difference between Fr., Fr, and FR marks. Therefore I will greatly appreciate your opinion on the maker of this cross. Thank you.
    Pavel.

Beautifully patinated cross!!! I believe that FR is Frank & Reif, Stuttgart.

Thank you, Miro. That is interesting. Do you believe this is a war-time cross? I am asking because I thought that Frank&Reif was only a Third Reich era producer and this core seems to be used by several other makers (WS, Roesner?).
