Richard,
Another fantastic acquisition. Love the detail and condition. I'm with Greg, how do you top that one!?

Thanks Chaps, it came in an incorrect box for a War Merit Cross which has given it protection over the years. It's definitely one I won't be able to upgrade! lol
It's been a month sense the last post to this thread so I will add
this one which just arrived this morning.
A 1870 with a bent frame and a cracked core. For all of the bad mouthing that
ebay gets, I've had some pretty good luck lately.

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.

Hi Lance,
Thanks you. This is really interesting. I have never seen or even heard of
such a piece. I'm going to have try out more about them.
By any chance, do you know the date of the newspaper article?
A bit off topic but somewhat similar-- I have a 15mm miniature iron cross
that is hung from a small US flag. My best guess is that this would maybe have
been worn by a member of one of the many German / American social clubs that
were around before the US entered the war.

Yes, it was from The Herald Press Thu Jan 23, 1919 out of Saint Joseph, Michigan.
