Having made a start I found another little family group, this time by the maker Klein 'KO'. These are all closed '4' variants so I now have to get a maker marked open 4 from Klein which should be fairly easy to find.
I think that are 5 different KO core variations. There are at least 2 different maker's mark
styles and I have been told of at least 2 different 2nd class frames. PLUS a couple of fakes.

It's an interesting family to try to collect.

Greg, thanks for these details. A challenge indeed and hopefully avoid stumbling on a fake at the same time.

I have had a good day today, late birthday presents from October 8th. This is the first one and one to add to my KO family.

Thank you Ralph, for some reason I had overlooked this maker with this core type over the years. I have collected the closed 4 variant but not this one. Glad to put that right today and glad it's a good one to boot.

    That's a good looking KO.
It would be hard to upgrade that one.

I agree that is a beauty. I saw your other post about the markings and had to see it in all its glory.
    Very Nice!!
Congrats on adding that to your collection.

Thank you Phil, there are so many KO Imperial crosses out there it pays to wait for the right one to present itself.

    Ken,

She's a beauty! I love the core on this one. Especially the ornate crown.

    Cheers,

    Joel
