A beauty Jamie,
Ken
Good looking cross. I like the Austrian style ribbon.

Jamie,
Welcome back into the fray my friend. Another nice Cross!
I've been a bit quiet of late due mainly to my shift pattern over the last few months as well as being a little lazy when on rest days. I fully intend to make more time this year to the forum, at least that's one resolution that should be easier to keep.
Well with that said I got my 2020 collecting of to a good start yesterday with this EKII by C.F. Zimmerman of Pforzheim. I have to thank Chopperman for helping to identify this one.
It has a lovely slim frame, the first in my collection with this slim style frame. The detail on the core is beautiful, especially the crown which is superbly detailed and crisp and the closed 4 in the date is a pleasant addition.
It has a little cosmetic rust to both sides of the core but this is just cosmetic and really doesn't detract at all from this cross. It has also a reproduction ribbon which I don't mind at all. These are just some quick mobile phone snaps to show it off a little.
I hope you like it.
Good looking cross Ken
They use a "blued" sheet steel core that has a very smooth finish
compared to the more traditional painted or blackened cores.
Although they are a bit more prone to rust issues.

Ken,
I absolutely love this cross! It checks all of the boxes for me. Stunning is an understatement. Well done!
Cheers,
Joel
Thank you Greg for the extra info regarding the blued steel core. It certainly has a crisp detailed core. The little rust that there is shouldn't get any worse now thankfully.
Ken
Joel, I thank you for your appreciation of this cross. It has entered my collection in the top 5 for detail and character. I would love now to find a 1st class Zimmerman. The search is on.
Ken
