A couple nice additions to your collection.
I believe your Ek1 is a Otto Schickle made piece and your CD800
is made by Carl Dillenius. CD crosses are usually very good quality crosses.

Hi All,
Its been a while since I've visited the site. Its wonderful to see how much this thread has grown! I would like everyone's opinion on a piece I ran into at a local show. The piece in question is a mounted 1813 Prinzen. I have never seen one of these either in a reference book or in real life. I have read descriptions of them in various books but there is no images to go by. The detail is very crisp and with alot of relief. THe frame is well constructed so it is probably a mid century, obviously a Bavarian Example. As I have 0 experience with 1813 Prinzen I was hoping someone could fill me in on a possible common fake or any other advice. I own no mounted medals from this time period and was wondering if the fastener at the ring was something common to see. I must say though the accompanying medal and mounting makes me feel a little more confident. The only thing Im not sure about is the red felt backing to the ribbon bar. Overall though I have a good feeling about. What says you?
Bill Shea's card is in there for a size comparison. Its not being offered by him incase anyone is wondering.
Thanks for any help,
Jess
Unfortunately I don't have any personal experience with PRINZEN 1813s.
Very very few people do.
I have seen quite a lot of pictures of 1813s and from what I see of the cross,
I think it has strong possibilities of being a good one. I don't collect bars
but to me the red felt looks to have been added on.
I strongly suggest that you post this in the Imperial forum over at WAF.
There are a couple of guys there that do have some hands on experience with these.
Sorry I could not be of more help.
