    Default Imperial Veterans Artillery badge/pin

Picked this up today. I thought it was pretty neat. Not 100% sure what it is but I think it is a veterans artillery "badge/pin".

Anyone ever seen one before? Not sure if this is post WWI veterans or could it be pre-ww1?

It is in fantastic shape. Even the pin on the back is really unique in the pin catch and pin is made from a single piece of wire.

I have not seen another one like it.
Most of the Vet assoc. pins we see are from the 1923s-30s.
The style of this one reminds me of the US GAR pins from
after the Civil war. That makes me think that this one might
be from the war of 1870. ------------ but that's just a huge
    guess on my part.

I think you may be right. It does look similar to GAR pins. Plus the workmanship of the pin on the back, the silver bullion fringe and the muzzle loading cannons leads me to believe that it is quite old.

Would be cool that it is that old!

    Thanks

I have a 'Deutscher Kreigerverein' badge with a similar
type of pin/catch assembly and maker mark on a
disc. It's not near as fancy as this one of yours
though - which is very nice.........!

    Steve,

Got a picture? What Era is yours from? I have no background on these. It was in my dealers case, it caught my eye and I had a few extra $ in my pocket so I picked it up

Is this an area of special interest for you?

If I remember, I'll post a pic here. I've always thought
of mine as WWI. I think it originally had a different
'dangle' as the EK is too small - likely a commem-
orative cross or medal of some type.

I collect WWI German items if I come across things
that catch my eye. I tend to latch on to certain
items - ie: Wound Badges - research as much
as I can on-line, and then buy up every one
I find. Kind of an 'OCD' thing I guess. Right
now, particularly, it is early 1800's British
shillings - along with loads of other stuff,
which will likely change next week.........!
    Regards,

    Steve.
