Iron Cross 1870
From the first sight this EK 1870 looks fine, metal looks like silver, diameter is 42mm, everything is unmagnetic (expect the screw)
But...
Borders of frame are quite strange, black paint covers the frame and looks like it was hand-made.
MUNCHEN 9 mark... It is quite werid to mark the cross with uncompleted street name (Deshler & Son foundry was placed on Munchen 9 Wirthstrasse 9).
Tell me what do you think about it. And also what odd You have seen on this cross.
imo its a fake 1piece cast.

Hi, these are coming out of somewhere in Europe, at a glance, [quick glance], they almost look ok, but the are complete junk. I have seen them with multi-part construction, and magnetic, they age them and stamp some nonsense on the back. At least they did not spell it Munich, but they are all wrong. The crown and the numbered date of original examples must be studied in detail to avoid these fakes. Also making ww1 ek1s and TR ek 1 & 2s so heads up.
The Deschler & Sohn fake and/or the pot hole fake.
When these horrible crosses first started showing up, most of them were marked
"Deschler & Sohn" . Now they can be found with all sorts of bogus marks on them.
They are easy to spot by the style of font used in the date and by the (pot holes) in the crown.
