This is the first one I've ever seen with a Meybauer screw nut
    on it.

I think these are all great. Many many years ago I used to see a lot these, mostly the painted versions, but I never did buy one. For once I kept to some measure of self control and did not want to branch out on yet another collecting theme!

    Cheers, Ade.

Hi Greg, I've not seen the Meybauer version before either. Wouldn't mind having one though!!!

Hi Ade, You're obviously made of sterner stuff than me. I was tempted by one & ended up buying three!!! So I then started collecting Turkish items & Austro Hungarian medals & badges!!! There are some nice items to be had & still comparatively cheap.

    Cheers,

    Richard.

Hi, this is my Turkish issue one, you can see why the Germans prefered their own versions, but i love the salty look of this one.

    Hi Horst,
i agree, i have never seen a screwback version, i have a 'B.B.&Co' the enamelled German version with the generic horizontal pin & i have seen ones with a vertical pin, i shall look for a screwback, but i assume they are both rare & expensive !
