I've been on a WWI-Era Award-buying spree lately...perhaps it's the upcoming 100 year anniversary that has rekindled my interest in these underappreciated awards, and I've been finding some decent deals out there...Such as this War Honor Cross with Swords, which is not encountered often and listed at 100 Euros in my Niemann Guide...I picked this one up today for $50.00 (German Seller), and look forward to adding it to my WWI German Awards-display...
    cheers, Glenn

Thanks friends...I've got my eye on some Freikorps insignia as well, but that's another story, lol...

    Glenn,
Isn't that The same ribbon as the 1934 "next of kin"
    Hindenburg cross. (widow's cross) ?

I just double-checked my guide, thanks for the info! The Ehrenbund Deutscher Weltkriegsteilnehmer e.V. was the same issuing authority for both awards...
    cheers, Glenn

CORRECTION: It is indeed the wrong ribbon. Here is the proper ribbon, and will likely prove difficult to find...

I'm with the boys, nice looking award Glenn!

One could spend a lifetime and not see all the awards that exist. Neat fact that keeps us coming back.
