    Default M16?

G'day Guys, thought i'd share my latest pick up, I think it's an M16 but I'm not sure, radical paint, i'd say quite modern but maybe fire brigade re-issue? Any thoughts would be appreciated, Cheers Phill.M16?M16?M16?M16?M16?M16?M16?M16?

Hey Phil! Longtime-no-see! Nice shell, I thought it was a camo at first.

Looks like an M17. M16 would have the chin strap lugs on the skirt.

Agree with Todd, M17 because of the lack of lugs

The lack of of chin strap mounts would make it an M18 shell. Almost looks like a filled in rivet hole on the skirt in one of the pictures.

Thanks Todd, it does have the rivets on the outside of the skirt(bit hard too see in these pics) but not alot on the inside, they don't appear too have been ground off orv tampered with just a simple rivet?

G'day Jase, any thoughts on the paint? looks to be Black over Gold with the Red band overlaid on top of that, definately not brush applied.
    Cheers Phill.

Thanks for your reply John, rivet holes are not filled in, as in welded or anything like that, just seem to be a simple rivet, have you ever seen anything resembling the paint scheme?

    Cheers Phill.

Phill, we may need some better images. I know it's a pain in the A$$ but its important in giving good advice.
