Thanks Guys. When he told me he had a German helmet, I was expecting anything but. So many look alikes, so many chances for it not to be. My jaw hit the floor when the box arrived and it was this one. Was not expecting this at all. I have taken a look for the makers mark. I still can not see any discernable stampings?? I think it's just the way the texture looks in the photo. Were all helmets stamped? I even wondered that it may have been stamped under the rust dot on the second last pic, that's why it went rustier (word?). Not sure.
A wonderful gift.
I was given a ww1 helmet and sawtooth bayonet for my 16th birthday by the widow
of the vet who brought them back from the war. Sadly the helmet was lost in a fire
but I still have the bayo. It is the one piece of my collection that will never be for sale.

I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
A one looker for sure. I really like these WWI camos. Congrats, Jim G.
