M95 Offiziers Pickelhaube Pionier-Batl. Nr.14 Baden

Found some time to take a few pictures again… One of my latest finds is this M95 Offiziers Pickelhaube for Badisches Pionier-Batl. Nr.14 (Kehl) XIV Armee Korps. I wasn’t especially looking for this one, but couldn’t resist when I got it in my hands…

It amazes me haw immaculate a lot of the liners are in Pickelhaubes, was this one a purely ceremonial type?..

In this configuration, they were worn everywhere exept in the field or on war games... therefore they used most of the time helmets of poorer quality. Also the visor and neckguard of these Diensthelmen were usually not coloured but plain leather...
