More desirable/valuble......brass or steel pickelhaube?

Article about: Sorry for this naive question, but I was planning on trading one of my pickelhaubes and wonder which one I should keep. Assuming all things equal, would the brass or steel be more desirable.

Sorry for this naive question, but I was planning on trading one of my pickelhaubes and wonder which one I should keep. Assuming all things equal, would the brass or steel be more desirable. I understand that steel was used when the brass ran out during the war. So I would assume the steel was certainly wartime issue?

Well they both look like M1891's ,but the brass one has the chin strap and cockades. I would keep the Brass one!!!!!Call it a personal preference,I have a M1891 Brass Baden,BUT How is the leather? If one has more cracks than the other then that would be the one to sell. Thanks. So if condition were exactly equal....... there is really no preference between steel or brass in regards too value?

The right one looks far better to me!
The eagle suits perfectly, the spike isn't that slightly bent as the other one,....condition looks overall beter then the left one.

Kris, (#5 above), has got it in a nutshell.
IMO as well, the brass finished helmet looks to be the one in better condition, therefore, by default, if I had to choose which one to keep, it would be that one, HOWEVER, at the end of the day, it's YOUR choice, you will have to live with whatever decision you make.

What about the liners? Are there any unit markings inside?
When it comes to buying or selling, a helmet with a intact liner and or
good unit stamps or makers marks means a significant increase in value-----all other
    things being equal
