    Thanks for your comments John, Glenn and Harry. Given that this year marks 100 years since the start of the Great War, I have a sneaking suspicion all WW1 items are going to go up a little in price.

    Mine was given to me by the widow of the vet who brought
    it back from the trenches in ww1 as a 16th birthday gift.
    It is the one piece of my collection that I can guaranty
    I will never sell.

    I love that display photo. I'd love to get my hands on a Pickelhaube but I haven't seen one for the right price and I'm not sure it would last long with the humidity around here.

    Nice 98/05 in sawback agree harder to find maker. nice piece. I have one 98/05 in Weimer blued condition with ground sawback dated 15 I like the 98/05's . timothy
