Thanks for the kind words of encouragement, everyone.

Re: My First M16 Helmet.........
Love these lids. I'm looking to get one in a similar condition, right after I get a WWII era M1, so I can say my WWII collection is complete, I'll move on to WWI It's a vicious cycle!
How much do these beauties go for?

Re: My First M16 Helmet.........
Congratulation and welcome to a new addiction.
Seems like the last several I have come across were Si66's. Sometimes it comes in streaks.

Re: My First M16 Helmet.........
I usually see smaller sizes about - 62 and 64 - and decided to get this one
because it was a bit larger than most that crop up.........

Re: My First M16 Helmet.........
I like it.
It looks like a true ww1 veteran.

As has been said on other threads, most military items are not getting any cheaper.
The ones I saw with rivetted liner bands and some leather padding remaining were
around $550, and up to $1,200 for a nice complete lid. There were also a few
with what looked like rather recent camo paint jobs, and I guess it's like
anything we collect, you have to be on your guard for fakes.........
